When i went outside this afternoon, i noticed this Cicada on my balcony.  At first, it was on the ground, but then it made it’s way up on one of the chairs.

It was moving ever so slowly, but it did notice me if i came to close.  It would slowly crawl away if i did.

I took these photos with the Fuji XF 60mm f/2.4 R  Macro.  I ended up using a tripod because i was not able to steady my hands enough.  I boosted the colors a bit and sharpened in NX2.

Happy shooting!

    1. lol 🙂 Yeah, i guess if you don’t like creepy crawlies, seeing them up close is not so great. By the end of the afternoon, it was gone. It gave me good practice with macro photography though 😉

      1. lol, yeah, i think i will stick with flowers. I really thought i could get into macro photography, but it has not happened. Just may trade in my macro lens and 35mm for a 18-55.
