Primarily An X10 Day

I made it my mission today to shoot only with the X10.  My battery did run out, but it ran out just as we were going home.  Again, i wanted to get used to it’s meter, which seems to overexpose a bit.  In the end, i mostly dialed in -0.3 to compensate.  No big deal.

I switched from the OVF to the LCD from photo to photo.  I switched to the LCD just to see what the histogram was giving me.  Seeing as the viewfinder is 85% coverage, it’s nice to also check the LCD to see exactly what you will be taking a photo of.

The X10 is a small camera.  Hanging around the neck of a 6’4″, 260 pound guy like me, just makes it look even smaller.  A couple of times, i caught guys with DSLRs looking at my camera, lol.  I am suspecting that deep down, they were laughing at me.  I’ll take them on any day.  Bring it on!

Mind you, i always look at what others are shooting with as well, but it is more out of curiosity.  I walked by a lady who was sporting a Leica.  I felt sorry for her because she spent at least $6000.00 in order for her to accomplish what i was accomplishing: taking photos.  She probably also does not realize that my Fujis are right on par with her Leica when it comes to the photos spat out.  Oh well, she has money and as long as she has fun, that is what’s important.
