These stained glass windows are from Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica in Ottawa. All of these are on the ground floor of the church. I was not able to take a photo of two windows, since they were split in half and open to let some air in.
In order for me to get the window and the surrounding wall properly exposed, i would have had to do multiple exposures. However, i was travelling light and did not bring my tripod.
The only other way to get the stained glass well exposed, was to overexpose the entire scene. I dialed in -2 on the exposure comp dial (which is metal on the X-E1 by the way) and took a few test shots.
I think it did the trick! This is something I will keep in my bag of tricks for my next church interior.
