This is most likely the number one reason why people go to Niagara Falls. As for other people like me, I go for the enormous TIm Hortons up on Clifton Hill! All photos taken with the X-E1.
We did not make it onto the boat, for we were not in any mood to wait in line for a few hours. Rather, we used our time to tour around and take in the sights. Time better spend if you ask me.
Obviously, the mist from the falls is a bit of an obstacle for your lenses optics. It gets worse with the mist that is right at the base of the falls. When the sun is hitting the mist, all you get is a white blob in your photos. I am not sure that there is much you can do about it, I will have to look into it.
I did not really have a want or need to zoom into the boat. I felt it was more appropriate to really show the boat in it’s element. I do have some “close-ups” from when I had my Nikon gear.
If you are unable to or don’t want to ride the boat, there is plenty of natural beauty to appreciate, along with the raw power of the falls.
